Fine Art Portraits
What Makes a Fine Art Portrait Unique?
A fine art portrait goes beyond a traditional studio photograph. It is a masterpiece of storytelling, where every element—from composition to lighting—is intentionally crafted with precision and artistic vision. Often described as “painting with light,” each portrait is thoughtfully designed to capture the essence of the subject while reflecting timeless elegance. Retouched with meticulous care, your fine art portrait becomes a cherished legacy for you and your family.
Award-winning photographer Kathleen brings her exceptional eye for detail and passion for artistry to every session, ensuring a relaxed, personalized experience that results in breathtaking, heirloom-quality art.
Fine Art Portrait Experience
Booking Fee: $250
This fee includes a comprehensive pre-session consultation, the portrait session itself, and professional retouching services. Because these are bespoke art pieces, no digital negatives are included with the session fee.
The Process
Step 1: Consultation and Design
Together, we’ll create a session concept tailored to your unique story and artistic preferences. We’ll discuss options for custom-framed fine art prints and canvases, available in a range of sizes. Artwork pricing ranges from $500 to $1,600. Each portrait is handcrafted and one-of-a-kind; digital files are not offered to preserve the exclusivity of your piece.
Step 2: The Portrait Session
Your session will take place either in our professional studio or at a carefully selected on-location setting, providing the perfect backdrop for your fine art portrait.
Step 3: Image Selection and Commissioning
After the session, you’ll return to the studio to select your favorite images. These selections will be your commissioned pieces. At this stage, images are presented in their raw form, awaiting expert retouching. Final payment is made for the artwork to be crafted to completion.
Step 4: Delivery of Your Artwork
When your artwork is complete, you’ll be invited to pick up your finely finished pieces—ready to become a centerpiece of your home and a treasured heirloom for generations to come.
