Turning from Flower Farmer to Professional Photographer
Hey, long time! I wanted to take this time and explain what I have been up to, and just in case you were wondering. I have incorporated all my photography into one website. If you are here just for flowers that’s OK. Please check out my Gallery.
Picking up a DSLR five years ago to start learning the ins and outs of photography has been such an incredible journey. I have met some of the best people and learned so much. You are never done learning as a professional photographer. Yes, I do photograph people. You can see more on the Kathleen Barber Photography website.
I grow most of the flowers you will see in my gallery. I feel like a have a personal bond with each one. I have either started it from bulb or seed to grow into the beautiful flower you see. My garden planning starts in early January, planting ranunculus if I didn’t get them all planted in December. February, and March I start the seeds in the hoop house. April is all about keeping the plants alive and getting them beefed up for transplant in May. The summers always seem to get away from me, and then it’s fall. In October, chrysanthemums are blooming through November. I receive my tulips bulbs and try and get them planted in December. Then the cycle starts over again. Whew!
I try to keep my Instagram updated and can follow along at @erikasfreshflowers. Let me know if you found me and your favorite flower.
I’m so glad you here and look forward to sharing my floral journey with you.
My best,
Kathleen
