As fall settles in, I find myself reflecting on the journey my garden and I have taken through the busyness of spring and summer. It’s been a season full of life—ordering seeds, planting them with hope, and sometimes planting again when old seeds failed to sprout. There were days spent watering, fertilizing, and tending to the beds, watching eagerly for signs of growth. Though not without its challenges, this garden has given me so much joy as it blossomed into the vision I’d carried in my head.
Now, as the leaves turn and the air cools, the garden is quieter, but it still holds a special magic. Through trial and error, I’ve learned what works in this space and what doesn’t. The muted colors I adore dominate the landscape, with a few vibrant splashes added to attract beneficial insects, ensuring the garden is alive with bees and birds.
The beauty of this season is not just in what the garden has become but in the lessons I’ve learned along the way. Each failure was a stepping stone toward understanding, and each success felt like a small victory. The garden morphed and shifted with time, growing into something that felt more beautiful than I could have imagined.
Now, as fall arrives, I pause to breathe in the stillness and thank my garden for being both a creative outlet and a sanctuary. I’ve learned so much from this voyage—the persistence needed to nurture what thrives and the wisdom to let go of what doesn't.
Thank you for sharing this journey with me. The garden and I will rest now, gathering strength for whatever lies ahead in the next growing season.
All the Best,
Kathleen
